Surprise!

Oooops! We are as surprised as everyone else. It turns out that we are going to have a new addition to our family. We found out yesterday that we're expecting again and the doctor confirmed it today! I know, I know, J won't even turn 1 until the 28th of this month. Crazy huh? I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!! Surprise or not, I wanted another baby soon. Hubby - not so much! He is excited now, but yesterday he was in shock. This picture speaks 1000 words. While looking at it, imagine Hubby screaming, "Nooooooooo" (kinda sounding like Goofy when he falls off a cliff). Anyway, please pray for us. We really want a healthy pregnancy (who doesn't?) and an easy first trimester. We love you guys!

Reflections

I was thinking today about life.. well mainly mine. I am so grateful for all of it. The good and the bad (and there have been some REALLY bad). How weird it is to look back at bad times and be THANKFUL. That is not of me. I am selfish and self absorbed. I want to be babied and pitied and like attention, but Christ in me can make me content. He makes me down right JOYFUL.. when I should be crying or sad, when the world says "feel sorry for yourself, you've earned it" - I can't (unless I get a bad haircut - which just happened, then I wallow in self pity - ha ha ha). The really bad things are completely endurable with the foundation of Christ that has been laid in my heart. The Lord meets my every need! Truly. It's amazing!! I really can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Life Now

Well I've been in Washington nearly two months now. Things are going well. We found a church we like, and I've been going to a couple of Bible studies, so I've met some ladies and made a few friends. Still miss all my girlfriends from Texas tons. Since I've been here God's really taken the opportunity to teach me to spend time with Him. He's growing me bunches and it's such an awesome feeling. It's nothing I'm doing - it's all God, giving me understanding of things I thought I knew but never really did. If you've been there you know what I mean, and if not pray for it because it's awesome!!! The kiddos are doing great. J is already 5 months old. Where the heck has time gone. She's teething really bad. Every time I go in to get her from a nap she's chewing on her fists or blanket. Those two bottom teeth really want to cut, but they just haven't yet. Poor little thing. L is my little friend. His vocabulary is just Amazing me every day - and the kid is a sponge (and a parrot - so we've got to be careful of what we say, even if it's not bad it still may be inappropriate for a 2 year old). We are working on alphabet flash cards, and memory bible verses. Hubby just put on Staff Sergeant on the 1st, so that's neat. When we first arrived here he was put in the Alarms shop, so now instead of doing the basic electrical work he does fire alarms. For those of you who didn't know my little sister is getting married 2 weeks from today. So cool! Well that's all with me. Just thought I'd blog a bit - since I seriously never do!

Finally Settled

After 8 days in a Honda Civic with two kids, a dog, a ton of luggage, a portable dvd player that only played Dora the Explorer the entire time, and I think approximately 3000 miles of driving, it is nice to be in Washington. The trip was beautiful, we stayed in Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, Cheyenne, Boise, and Portland and saw and experienced so many new things. All the gorgeous landscapes made me wonder how anyone could ever question the existance of God. If you do my suggestion is .. make a cross country trip where you are in the car for 8 hours a day for 8 days and if you can do it without killing anyone.. He MUST exist .. lol. We took lots of pics and when we have time I'll post some.
We arrived at McChord the Saturday before Easter and on Monday morning they had a house ready for us. So we moved in that Wednesday, but only 2/3 of our stuff made it, so we had to wait until yesterday to get our computer and a bunch of other electronics. It felt like Christmas being able to get back on the internet and connect with friends again.
This place is so much different than Texas, green and mountainy, it's just beautiful. The weather has been great - but I hear the winters are hard. My neighbor said when we arrived they had just ended 38 straight days of rain. YIPES!!!
God is so faithful to have gotten us here safely. Now we just have to find a church and make some friends.
I sure do miss everyone back home in good ol' Abilene. Hope y'all are doing well. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and I'm going to try to get back to everyone who posted and commented while I was away for 3 whole weeks.. goodness that felt like forever.
